ÖNEMLİ-FEBS KOMİTELERİNE BAŞVURU

Değerli meslektaşlarımız,

FEBS bünyesindeki komitelerde açılan yeni pozisyonlarla ilgili bilgiler ve adaylarda aranan özellikler aşağıdadır. 

Herbiri çok aktif olarak çalışan ve önem taşıyan bu komitelere uygun deneyim ve özelliklerdeki meslektaşlarımızın başvurmasını dileriz. 

Başvuruların ekteki form doldurularak 15 Mart 2019 tarihine kadar derneğimize iletilmesi yoluyla olacağını önemle hatırlatır, başarılar dileriz.

Advanced Courses Committee: 2 new members 

Paola Bruni and Stefana Petrescu are ending their four-year terms on 31.12.2019. 

The Advanced Courses Committee would appreciate receiving nominations for candidates devoted to promoting the education of young scientists with expertise in at least one of: 

- metabolism 

- membrane biology 

- cellular and molecular biology (with potential focus on tumorigenesis or microbiology or plant biology). 

Education Committee: 2 new members 

László Dux and Jean-Luc Souciet are ending their four-year terms on 31.12.2019. Winne Eskild is ending her one year co-opted term on 31.12.2019. 

The Education Committee would appreciate receiving nominations for candidates as follows: 

a. They should have and can demonstrate experience of educational activities in addition to normal academic duties; 

b. They should be able to allocate time on the educational projects of the Committee (see http://febs-edu.eu);

c. It will be valuable if they have organizational skills and experience of education activities, experience in preparing educational guidelines and documents and experience with local administrative offices, ministries and the EU. 

d. It will be valuable if they have some documented results from using new innovative approaches/up to date educational methods. Documented participation in pedagogical events and/or educational meetings & workshops are also valued. 

e. Non-scientist candidates from Departments of Education (or Educational Technologies, etc) are also encouraged to apply as long as they have some teaching duties and are practically involved with education. 

Fellowships Committee: 5 new members 

Lluis Montoliu and Rostyslav Stoika are ending their four-year terms on 31.12.2019; Laurence Drouard and Jolanta Jura are ending their one-year co-opted terms on 31.12.2019. 

The Fellowships Committee would appreciate receiving nominations for candidates to cover the fields of those members whose terms are ending and an additional member in the field of molecular microbiology. Candidates should therefore have a proven record in one or more fields of: 

- Cancer / Cell signalling / Cell proliferation / Signal transduction, 

- Immunology / inflammation, 

- Molecular microbiology / Parasitology / Infectious diseases, 

- Neurosciences, animal models, 

- Plant biology / membranes / mitochondria. 

Finance Committee: 1 new member 

Adam Szewczyk is ending his four-year term on 31.12.19. 

The Finance Committee would appreciate receiving nominations for candidates with proven experience in some of the following areas: 

- financial affairs of a learned society or similar organization, 

- a proven record in planning and managing large budgets; or 

- an understanding of finances within scientific publishing. 

Secretary General 

Professor Václav Pačes, Secretary General, is ending his first term of office on 31.12.2019. He has served three years in this post and he is eligible and willing to stand for re-election for a second three-year term. 

Candidates should be scientists with an established standing in research in the molecular life sciences and a proven record of service in one or more of FEBS Committees or Working groups as well as experience in scientific administration and policy making. Candidates should also have the understanding and capacity to further develop and promote FEBS interests in Europe and its neighboring countries and be able to devote significant time to FEBS activities. 

Chairperson of the Fellowships Committee 

Professor Alain Krol, Chairperson of the Fellowships Committee, is ending his first term of office on 31.12.2019. He has served three years in this post and he is eligible and willing to stand for re-election for a second three-year term. 

Candidates should have a proven record in handling and evaluating fellowships applications for pursuing research in the molecular life sciences and be able to dedicate time to FEBS activities, including organizing the Fellows meeting. 

Chairperson of the Science and Society Committee 

Professor Emmanouil Fragkoulis, Chairperson of the Science and Society Committee, is ending his first term of office on 31.12.2019. He has served three years in this post and he is eligible and willing to stand for re-election for a second three-year term. 

Candidates should have a proven record in promoting scientific policy-making activities and science and society relations.  

Chairperson of the Working Group on Integration 

Professor Jerka Dumic, Chairperson of the Working Group on Integration, is ending her first term of office on 31.12.2019. She has served three years in this post and she is eligible and willing to stand for re-election for a second three-year term. 

Candidates for this position should have a proven record of experience working in molecular life sciences in central, eastern and western European countries, be familiar with scientific society management and/or through personal experience have contributed to the integration of a national society to FEBS. 

Chairperson of the Working Group on Women in Science 

Professor Cecilia Arraiano, Chairperson of the Working Group on Women in Science, is ending her second term of office on 31.12.19. She has served six years in this post (and one year previously as Acting Chair) and she is eligible and willing to stand for re-election for a final three-year term. 

Candidates should have a proven record in promoting the role of women in molecular life sciences and be able to dedicate time to FEBS activities, including organizing the Women in Science awards and related events at the Congress.
